    star spangled sangria

Ahh, sweet, sweet summer. I love sipping on sangria during the summer. It's so light and refreshing and full of the best fruits! It's also so easy to customize it for any party theme by just changing up the colors of fruits you use.

For Memorial day, I obviously wanted to make a red white and blue sangria. Since I couldn't find starfruit (which would have been perfection) I opted to use pineapple chunks instead. You can always try to cut the pineapple into stars using a cookie cutter. I did that once. Once was enough. It was a sticky, maddening experience. Chunks worked juuuust fine! 🙂

    STAR SPANGLED SANGRIA

As with most sangria recipes, this is pretty simple. You add the ingredients into a large pitcher, stir, and serve. Then drink away!

For this particular sangria, you will need 2 bottles of moscato, 1 C of triple sec, ½ C berry flavored vodka, ½ C fresh lemon juice, and ½ C simple syrup. Mix all these together then top with desired amount of strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple chunks. Or whatever fruits you want! BUT if you're using a dispenser like mine, don't use raspberries!! As I learned with my Raspberry Lemonade Party Punch, raspberries will fall apart and clog up the nozzle. It's the opposite of fun trying to clean it out. 🙁

I served extra fruit alongside my sangria pitcher for guests to top their own drinks. You gotta get your fruit servings in for the day, ya know!

    Enjoy! (Responsibly! 😉 )
