This taco dip flag is a festive, delicious, simple dish for your summer parties! Served cold and can be made a day before to help save you time on party day!Dip decorated like an American Flag with title written on chalkboard

I have a certifiable obsession with dips. And tacos. And taco dips. And festive food items. So I'm losing. My. Mind. Over this. Taco. Dip. Flag. How cute is this thing?!

I have served this for Memorial day and the 4th of July and both times my guests were scraping the dish clean. (And by "guests" I mostly mean me...) Eventually we stopped using plates and just dug right in with chips. We couldn't be controlled. (And again by "we" I mostly mean me...)

This is very easy to put together and can be made a day in advance (which will save you time for getting everything else ready on party day!) It is also served cold which is always a lifesaver for parties! 🙂

To begin this recipe, start by browning 1 lb of ground beef in a large pan until cooked, then drain out any excess fat. Add in ¾ C of water and 1 package of taco seasoning and allow to simmer for an additional 2 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate meat while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

In a large bowl, add in 16 oz of sour cream, 8 oz of softened cream cheese, and 1 package of taco seasoning. Mix well. Now we can start prepping the dip!

In a 9x13 pan, spread out a 16 oz can of refried beans. Top with cream cheese/sour cream mixture and spread out evenly. Top with cooled ground beef then sprinkle with ½ C of shredded cheddar cheese. 9x13 pan with refried beans overhead shot 9x13 pan with cream cheese mixture spread over refried beans overhead shot 9x13 pan with ground beef overhead shot 9x13 pan with ground beef topped with shredded cheese overhead shot 9x13 pan with lettuce overhead shot 9x13 pan with all dip ingredients designed to look like American flag overhead shot

Top evenly with 2 C shredded lettuce, then begin making your flag! Using 2 diced tomatoes and 1 C of cheddar cheese, create alternating rows, leaving the top corner empty. Add a few black olives to the top corner so they look like little stars!

Refrigerate for 30 minutes then serve with tortilla chips. Enjoy! 🙂
